History

In 2008, MVP Holdings, LLC, began as a small crude oil and marketing transportation company. In less than 20 years, it has grown into one of the largest privately-held midstream company in the United States, offering services in crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products, and renewables.

We achieved this growth through a lot of hard work, creative strategy, a focus on quality and developing strong relationships with our clients. Here are some more details on our rise in the industry and the important lessons we’ve learned along the way:

Murfin Inc. and Vess Purchasing Partners form MVP Holdings, LLC
October 2009
Construction begins on Boyer Crude Terminal in El Dorado, Kansas
May 2010
MVP enters into a long-term lease agreement for the North Cimarron Pipeline
August 2010
MVP signs a long-term crude oil storage agreement in Cushing, Oklahoma
January 2011
Crude movements begin at Boyer Crude Terminal
July 2011
Cushing storage position increases to 1.2 million barrels
October 2012
MVP acquires KPC Pipeline and its adding 1,120 miles of interstate natural gas transmission
November 2012
Partners with Gateway Terminals to facilitate Bakken rail-to-barge operations from North Dakota to US Gulf Coast
January 2013
Expands footprint with a new office in Oklahoma City
February 2015
Acquires Great Salt Plains Pipeline and its 115 miles of pipe. GSPM Crude currently operates 160 miles of pipe
December 2017
Launches Great Salt Plains Midstream joint venture to develop gathering, and processing infrastructure in Oklahoma
August 2019
Continues national expansion with a new location in Houston, Texas
April 2020
Selected by the U.S. Government as one of nine companies to store oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve
December 2021
Adds 166 miles of crude oil pipeline through the Echo Canyon Pipeline system
October 2023
Purchases a 50% interest in of Texoma Pipeline and Red River Crude Oil, adding 513 miles of active crude pipeline
January 2024
Establishes a new office in Denver, Colorado
August 2024
Acquires the remaining 50% of Texoma Pipeline and Red River Crude Oil
February 2025
MVP completes the internal transition of Revenue Distribution and Ownership Relations from a third-party provider

MVP acquires key assets and the crude oil marketing book from CVR Energy, expanding its presence in North Central Kansas

Growth increases with purchase of select Plains Marketing assets and expands midcontinent platform
